SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation)
Statistics show that 50% of men over the age of 50 have some form of hair loss. The most common form of hair loss is called Androgenic Alopecia or male pattern baldness. Scalp Micropigmentation is best suited for men with complete hair loss who are going for the clean shaved look.
But! SMP is not just for men. Even though it is not as talked about as men’s, women’s hair loss is quite common as well. In general, as there are less options for women with thinning hair or hair loss, it can be one of the most devastating things to their self-confidence. Therefore, also women can greatly benefit from SMP as it can be a perfect choice.
So, what is SMP?
SMP is an acronym for Scalp Micro Pigmentation and, amongst other names, it is also frequently called, Hair Tattoo, Medical Hairline Tattoo, Simulated Hair Follicles or Scalp Tattoo. SMP is a medical grade, non-surgical treatment, for men and women. Using a specialized microneedle, organic, charcoal based pigment is deposited into the lower epidermis and upper dermal layer of the scalp to give the appearance of natural hair follicles. The specialized pigment and the depth where its placed, is what differentiates SMP from tattoo, minimizing migration and color change to make it look as natural as possible.
The end result is phenomenal! Even with a close-up inspection it is practically impossible to tell which hair follicles are real and where is SMP.
